Timberwolves Rout Nuggets, Force Game 7 in Western Conference Semis
Minnesota Destroys Denver 115-70 in Game 6
The Minnesota Timberwolves stunned the Denver Nuggets in Game 6 of their Western Conference semifinal series on Tuesday, destroying the defending champs 115-70 to force a Game 7.
Down 3-2 and facing elimination, the Timberwolves responded with a dominant performance at home. They shot 54.2% from the field, including 14-of-31 from three-point range, and held the Nuggets to just 35.7% shooting.
Karl-Anthony Towns led the way with a game-high 28 points, 10 rebounds, and five blocks. Anthony Edwards added 25 points, D'Angelo Russell had 18, and Jaden McDaniels had 15.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets struggled to find any rhythm on offense. Nikola Jokic, the reigning MVP, finished with just 17 points on 6-of-22 shooting. Michael Porter Jr. added 15 points and Aaron Gordon had 13, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Timberwolves' onslaught.
The Nuggets will now have to regroup and try to avoid elimination in Game 7, which will be played on Thursday in Denver. The Timberwolves, meanwhile, will be looking to complete the upset and advance to the Western Conference Finals.
